As we ramp up our spring and summer services, we are on the lookout for a few folks to join our team! Check out these available positions.


Stockmen’s Summer Library Assistant

THE POSITION:

The Stockmen’s Library Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation facility within the Cochrane RancheHouse known as the Bert Sheppard Library.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Scanning of historic brand files into our online database using Sharescan software.
– Cataloguing and shelving of books and artifacts
– Dealing with the public to handle inquiries and accept payments for transactions and sales.
– Use library software for research and to update and maintain the library’s database.
– Keep membership data up to date and accurate on an ongoing basis.
– Assist with programming activities such as our Cowboy Coffee and various school groups.
– Maintain the physical appearance of the library by cleaning our displays and storage areas.
– Assist with marketing, web design and various promotional materials.
– Help with the creation of various displays and programming.
– Sundry duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

– Must meet the criteria of a participant in the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
– Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
– Must be able to lift 40lbs.

SCHEDULE:

The position is a term position from late June until late august 2024. The position will be approximately 35 hours per week with rotating weekend shifts with some flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend activities.

Stockmen’s Summer Education Program Coordinator

THE POSITION:

The Stockmen’s Education Program Coordinator will support the day-to-day operations while also reviewing, adapting, and documenting the various education programs offered by the Stockmen’s.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review existing programming to measure effectiveness and curriculum relevancy.
  • Adapting and developing effective programming and creating criteria to measure outcomes.
  • Scanning of historic brand files into our online database using Sharescan software.
  • Cataloguing and shelving of books and artifacts
  • Dealing with the public to handle inquiries and accept payments for transactions and sales.
  • Use library software for research and to update and maintain the library’s database.
  • Keep membership data up to date and accurate on an ongoing basis.
